Why do you think Li refers to the sewerage collector as the ‘shit-man’ as opposed to a more neutral term? What is he trying to achieve with his choice of language?

He calls him the shit man because his job is to walk through the alley ways and collect the whole towns waste into his wheelbarrow and then take it to the fields to be used as manure. Li might have used the term shit man as a bit of humor because he is using a rude word and some people might find that humorous

Ben W's question 2
I think Li calls him shit man because he wants to be funny and all the shit man does is he goes around the alleyways and the backstreets of the city and then takes the waste out to the country side to use it as manure.

answer
Li refers to the sewerage man as the shit man because the sewerage mans job is to walk through towns sewers and collect all the waste in his wheelbarrow. Collecting waste would be a job that could be known as the shit man because of the smell he must have from all the waste he collects.

Why do you think Li refers to the sewerage collector as the ‘shit-man’ as opposed to a more neutral term? What is he trying to achieve with his choice of language?
1.Because his job is to collect all the waste from each home and take it to the working fields to be used as fertilizer.
2.He is trying to give the impression of being poor and how it doesn’t matter what you call him because it's the least of their problems.

Re: Question Two
The man's job is to go around the town to pick up the wastes made by the people in town and then take them to a place and turn them into manure. So Li called him the "SHIT" man just to make a joke out of the man in a humerous way.

Re: Question Two
Li calls him shit man because his job is to collect peoples ‘shit’ in a big wheelbarrow and that is where he gets his name. He might also call him that because it is funnier supposed to saying poo man.

question 2 chapter 1
Why do you think Li refers to the sewerage collector as the ‘shit-man’ as opposed to a more neutral term? What is he trying to achieve with his choice of language?
In my opinion I think Li calls the sewage man shit man because of his job, he walks around the town with a wheel barrow collecting peoples feces using it as manure for the fields. I think that Li uses the name shit man as a opinion of how this man smells.

Question 2
I think that Li refers to the sewerage collector as the ‘shit-man’ because he is showing that his job is one of the lower jobs and he doesn’t respect him because he picks up waste. Also I think he calls him the ‘shit-man’ because he picks up shit.

He refers to That man as the Shit man because he walks around collecting the waste from every one's toilets and puts it into a wheelbarrow and takes it to the fields to use for fertiliser. It shows he hasn't got a very good education because the way he says it.

Question 2 reply
Cunxin says 'shit man' because the man's job is to go around the whole town to collect the town's waste into his wheelbarrow and then take it to the fields so people can use it for the fertilizer. Cunxin maybe used the word 'shit because he might not know the real name of the job or he just finds it funny to say as a bit of humor.

chapter one question two
A man in the village has a job of picking up the wastes and shits from the village such as toilet and the street. After gathering all the wastes, he pours them into the wheelbarrow. With that wheelbarrow, he goes to the field and used them as manure for the crops. I think Li was meant to say it a word ‘shit-man’ in a sarcastic way because he thinks that people would laugh if he says it.
