Post  Harry Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:45 am

She has completely no idea who she is going to marry that day, she also is worried that her future husband will be cruel to her, but most of all be disappointed about her unbound feet.

Mrs J: A good answer Harry but your last sentence doesn't make sense.

Why is Requing crying on her wedding day?

Requing is crying on her wedding day because her marriage is a pre-arranged marriage. She is very concerned that she is going to be stuck with this man who might be stubborn, strict, aggressive and mean. She is also worried that because of her unbound feet the man might think she is not a high classed person and is not wealthy.

Mrs J: A great answer Oscar

Question One Empty Answer to Question1

Post  Jerry Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:52 am

She was worried about his arranged husband is going to be a kind hearted man and is he going to like her or not, or is he fully functional. She worries about her feet being unbound because that means that she isn't wealthy and she is not in fashion.

Mrs J: A good answer. Your 'fully functional' comment made me laugh.

Question One Empty why was Reiquing crying?

Post  William Rankin Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:55 am

Reiquing was crying because she is having a planned wedding which is tradition.

She had never seen this man or contacted this man and she was concerned that he would dislike her and treat her badly.

She was concerned that he will not like her unbound feet and throw her out.

She also hopes that he will not treat her badly because of her family's poor wealth.

Reiquing is sad because she will see her family only a few times a year .

Mrs J: Your answer is good however sentences MUST begin with a capital letter and you should proof read your work.

Question One Empty question 1

Reiquing was crying on her wedding day because it was a arranged marriage and she had never seen the guy she was marrying before, she was scared he wouldn't like her or she wouldn't like him. She also was worried about her unbound feet because small feet are a sign of prettiness, also unbound feet meant you were poor and couldn't afford a job, you had to work. Only wealthy could afford bound feet.

Question One Empty Mao's Last Dancer prologue

Post  jackko Fri Jul 22, 2011 7:40 am

In Ancient China, people used to have arranged marriage, which means that she had never seen her future husband. For that, she was really worrying and nervous that her future husband will not be kind and will not like her. But most of all she worried about her unbound feet. She couldn’t stop shaking. Tears stream from her eyes. Soon she will become a wife and another family’s daughter-in-law. By the time she was tearing, her mother says to her. ‘Don’t cry! You’re going to a family with enoght food. Do you want to be poor for the rest of your life?’ and then she gently wipes her daughter’s tears and hugs her.

Mrs J: A great answer Jack but be careful who's perspective you a using. You should be writing ABOUT the book, not as if you are IN the book.

'You silly girl,' her mother says to her. 'Don't cry! You're going to a family with enough food. Do you want to be poor for the rest of your life?'
